The DMM can generate an event after taking a measurement. You can use this feature if you want to trigger a switch module to advance to the next entry in its scan list. The generated event is called Measurement Complete, and it can be routed to destinations including PXI trigger lines (PXI_Trign) and the external 9-pin AUX connector. You can configure the destination of the event using niDMM Configure Meas Complete Dest. Refer to niDMM Configure Meas Complete Dest for all of the destination options for Measurement Complete.
For waveform acquisitions, the Measurement Complete signal is generated after the entire waveform is acquired, not after each point.
|Note If the NI 4060 is controlling SCXI through the front panel connectors, the Measurement Complete signal is routed to External by default. If it is controlling SCXI through the internal PXI/SCXI communication lines, the Measurement Complete signal is routed by default to PXI_Trig0, which in turn is routed to an internal PXI/SCXI line. If the NI 4060 is not controlling SCXI, the default setting for the Measurement Complete signal is None.|
You can configure the polarity of the Measurement Complete signal using niDMM Configure Meas Complete Slope. Set Slope to Positive or Rising Edge to generate an Measurement Complete signal that pulses high. Set Slope to Negative or Falling Edge to generate an Measurement Complete signal that pulses low.
