Use an analysis procedure in the Analysis Server to define a triggered task for files indexed by a DataFinder. Event-driven tasks automatically start a data analysis as soon as new or changed files are available in the data source you defined. Complete the following steps to create an Analysis Server in the TDM Server Manager, to load an analysis procedure, and to configure an event-driven task with this procedure.

First, open the TDM Server Manager in your web browser and login with your username and password.

Creating a new Analysis Server

  1. If you have not yet created an Analysis Server, select New»Analysis Server. Note that you can create and operate only one Analysis Server in the TDM Server Manager.
  2. Enter a name for the new Analysis Server.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Click Start to start the Analysis Server.

Loading an Analysis Procedure

To load an analysis procedure, you first need to create this procedure in DIAdem. For more information, refer to the Defining an Analysis Server Procedure Configuration procedure.

  1. Select the Analysis Server in the list of configured servers, and click Manage.
  2. Open the Analysis Procedures Library page.
  3. Click Add.
  4. Click Browse and enter <DIAdem Program Folder>\Examples\TDM Server configurations\Immediate_Analysis.ANP as Analysis Server Procedure Configuration.
You can also click here to copy all example files for the TDM server into your user folder.
  5. Click Open.
  6. Click OK.

Defining a Triggered Task

To add a triggered task, you must first configure a DataFinder Server in the TDM Server Manager. For more information, refer to the Searching for Cleansed Files with DataFinder procedure that creates the ProcessedDataIndex DataFinder Server.

  1. Click Back in the browser.
You can also click the name of the Analysis Server in the breadcrumbs navigation.
  2. Open Configuration»Tasks.
  3. Select Triggered Tasks.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Enter ImmediateTask as the Task Name.
  6. Select the ProcessedDataIndex@... DataFinder as the Data Source.
  7. Select Immediate_Analysis as the Analysis Procedure.
  8. In the parameters list you specify the path C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\TDM Server Demo\Result_Reports as the value for ResultsPath.
  9. Click OK.
Analysis Server executes the ImmediateTask task as soon as DataFinder has indexed a new file. The status is Changed.
  10. Click the name of the Analysis Server in the breadcrumbs navigation to open the configuration.
  11. Click Current and Completed Tasks to check the execution of your task.
  12. Click Completed Tasks to display the executed tasks.
If the data triggering the task does not meet the filter condition for executing tasks, the overview displays No matching data as the Status.
  13. Click Current Tasks to display the tasks currently executed by the Analysis Server.
You can cancel current tasks. If you stop a task containing several subtasks which process several files simultaneously, cancelling this task leads to an abortion of all current subtasks.
