Owning Palette: Data Storage & Transfer Functions

Requires: FPGA Module

Invokes a method on a register item on the FPGA.

You must specify a register item before you specify a method. The methods are Write and Read.

Details

Register In specifies the FPGA register item. You can wire a Register control, Register constant, VI-Defined Register Configuration node, or another Register Method Node to Register In.
Register Out returns Register In if Register In is wired. Otherwise, Register Out returns the register item that you specify in the Register Method Node.

Register Method Node Details

To use the Register Method Node, you first must create register items. You can create a register item in the Project Explorer window or using a VI-Defined Register Configuration node. You then can right-click the Register Method Node and select the register item from the Select Register shortcut menu.

When you wire a register item to Register In, LabVIEW renames this node to Register Item to indicate that the node is now associated with a register item in the project.

Tip  You can drag a register item from the Project Explorer window to the block diagram to place a configured Register Method Node on the block diagram.

Right-click the Register Method Node and select Add New Register from the shortcut menu to create a new register item in the Project Explorer window.

Tip  If Register In is unwired, you can right-click the Register Method Node and select Find Item in Project from the shortcut menu to highlight the register item in the Project Explorer window.

You can invoke the following register methods:
