Click New attribute in the Tagger dialog box to open the Attribute type dialog box.

Use this dialog box to add attributes to a document in the project.

This dialog box contains the following components:

  • Name—Specifies the name of the attribute.
  • Icon—Specifies the icon associated with the attribute. Click Icon to launch the Select icon dialog box, which you use to specify an icon for the attribute. Select icons that Requirements Gateway provides, or add a custom 16 × 16 (pixels) .bmp icon and a corresponding mask icon and save them in the <Requirements Gateway Public>\Config\images directory. Requirements Gateway uses the icon files in this directory and the <Requirements Gateway>\config\images directory to populate the Select icon dialog box.
  • Display—Specifies the name of the attribute Requirements Gateway displays in the main window. For example, if you want the attribute to display with a label that reads Attribute, enter Attribute in the Display control.
  • is boolean—Specifies whether the attribute is boolean.
  • Available values—Specifies the acceptable values for the attribute.

    Use the following buttons, located to the right of the list of available values, to organize the values.
    • Add a new enumeration value—Adds a new value for the attribute to the list of available values. Specify a new value in the text control below the list of available values.
    • Change enumeration value icon—Launches the Select icon dialog box, in which you can specify the icon that Requirements Gateway displays in the main window for the attribute value. Select icons that Requirements Gateway provides, or add a custom 16 × 16 (pixels) .bmp icon and a corresponding mask icon and save them in the <Requirements Gateway Public>\Config\images directory. Requirements Gateway uses the icon files in this directory and the <Requirements Gateway>\config\images directory to populate the Select icon dialog box. The Change enumeration value icon is available when you select a value in the list
    • Up—Moves the selected value up the list. This option is available when the list contains more than one value.
    • Down—Moves the selected value down the list. This option is available when the list contains more than one value.
    • Delete a value—Deletes the selected value from the list. This option is available when you select a value in the list.
  • Parent types—Lists possible element types to assign as the parent of the attribute.
  • Computation expression—Specifies the computed value coming from an OTScript expression evaluation. This evaluation is made on all selected parent types if some are selected otherwise it is made on requirements.
  • Options—Specifies the settings for the attribute.
    • Is multi-valued—Specifies whether the attribute can have multiple values as defined in the list of Available values.
    • Is displayed—Specifies whether Requirements Gateway displays the attribute in the project workspace.
