Use marks to persist the icons attached to modified elements so that you can continue to modify and reload a project several times and track the modified elements across several iterations of a project configuration.

Select Edit»Marks»Modifications or right-click the project workspace and select Marks»Modifications from the context menu after Requirements Gateway reloads a project to add a modification mark, which appears as an orange circle, to any element already highlighted with an orange icon, as shown in the following figure.

Marks

Navigate from one mark to the next in the following ways:

  • Select Edit»Marks»Next.
  • Right-click the project workspace and select Marks»Next from the context menu.
  • Select a marked element and press <F2>.

You can also use marks to label the results of a search you perform when you select Edit»Find in the main window. You can also create custom marks that you can apply to any elements for any reason, and you can filter elements that are marked or unmarked.

Marks persist until you manually remove them. Selecting File»Reload or File»Reload All does not remove marks.

Removing Marks

Remove the marks from the project in the following ways:

  • Select a marked element and select Edit»Marks»Remove marks or right-click the element and select Marks»Remove marks from the context menu to remove individual marks.
  • Select a section element and select Edit»Marks»Remove marks recursively or right-click the section element and select Marks»Remove marks recursively from the context menu to remove any marks applied to the section element and its child elements.
  • Select Edit»Marks»Remove all marks or right-click the project workspace and select Marks»Remove all marks from the context menu to globally remove all the marks that apply to a given category of modifications, such as modified requirements.
