The PDF type captures the content of a Adobe PDF file and generates an ASCII intermediate file in the intermediate subdirectory of the project directory.
The following figure shows a portion of a PDF source file that contains a section heading, a requirement ID, label, and text, and Allocated to and Priority Level attributes.
The intermediate file that the PDF type generates includes the same information, as shown in the following figure.
Enable the With cells format option on the Options tab of the PDF Conversion Options dialog box to capture content from table cells in the PDF file.
Requirements Gateway writes a new line in the intermediate file for each cell in a table in the PDF file:
| <column number> Cell text
When a table column contains multiple paragraphs, Requirements Gateway writes each paragraph to the same line before starting the new column:
|1 First paragraph|1 Second paragraph|2 Second column
