To ease copy and paste operations from one cluster to another, a set of cluster import/export options is available. You can find them in the cluster object right-click menu.
This option allows copying the whole or part of the content of a different cluster to the current cluster. In a dialog, you can select the source database/cluster, which content to copy, and the copy mode. The copy mode determines how the merge behaves in case of a naming conflict (that is, an object with the same name already exists in the target cluster):
You also can copy over content from a cluster of a different protocol type, but in this case not all content might be copied over. You will see a warning in this case and should carefully check the result of such an operation.
This option is available for LIN clusters only. Besides saving the database in the FIBEX XML format, it allows exporting the LIN cluster content to a LIN description file (.ldf).

Note A LIN description file exported in this way might differ from a LIN description file that the cluster has been read from, as the Database Editor does not handle all LIN description file content. |
