Owning Class: plots

Requires: MathScript RT Module

## Syntax

surfacenorm(z)

surfacenorm(z, color)

surfacenorm(x, y, z)

surfacenorm(x, y, z, color)

Legacy Name: `surfnorm`

## Description

Plots a 3D surface that includes the normal of the surface. If x, y, and z are real matrices of the same size, this function plots corresponding values of x, y, and z. If x and y are real vectors and z is a real matrix, this function plots the ith element of x, the jth element of y, and the ijth element of z. If you specify only a real matrix z, this function plots the ijth element of z against i and j.

Examples

## Inputs

Name Description
x Specifies a real vector or matrix.
y Specifies a real vector or matrix.
z Specifies a real matrix.
color Specifies a valid color attribute for the plot. color is a real matrix of the same size as z. The default is the values in z.

## Details

The following table lists the support characteristics of this function.

## Examples

[X, Y] = meshgrid2d(0:0.1:1);
Z = sqrt(X.^2 + Y.^2);
surfacenorm(X, Y, Z)
