If you modify a TD instance document after translating it to a TestStand sequence file and a set of LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI code modules, you can run the translator again and choose to incrementally update the previously generated sequence file and code modules instead of generating new files. The translator updates the existing sequence file and code module constructs previously translated from the TD instance document. The translator creates a log file for the incremental update, and you can use the log file to examine changes made to the sequence file.
Enable the Update Sequence File option on the General Settings tab of the ATML Test Description Translator Configuration dialog box to update the sequence file incrementally. Enable the Launch TestStand File Diff/Merge Application to Show Differences option on the General Settings tab to use the TestStand File Diff/Merge application to view the differences between the original sequence file and the updated sequence file. Enable the Preview Only option on the General Settings tab to view only the updates using the log files or the TestStand File Diff/Merge application but not apply them.
When you open a modified TD instance document to retranslate, TestStand launches the Update Options dialog box, in which you can specify to update a previously translated sequence file or to translate the modified TD instance document to a new sequence file.
You can also use the LabVIEW custom code generator VIs or a LabWindows/CVI custom code generator DLL to update existing code modules during an incremental update.
