Parent Topic: Learn More about Device Fundamentals
When unhandled errors occur and persist in the application that runs on a device, the device can enter a state called InvalidConfig. InvalidConfig works like an idle state where the application does not respond to any internal or external requests except requests to restart.
If the device restarts a maximum number of times within a specified time period, it sets itself to InvalidConfig and requests that the NI InsightCM web application display the status of the device as being InvalidConfig. To clear the InvalidConfig state, browse to the Device Configuration page and select Clear Invalid Configuration from the Action pull-down menu.
