Supported Sensors: Vibration sensors that acquire waveform data, such as acceleration.

Waveform viewers display the time-domain representation of a measurement from a specific acquisition. Move the cursor along a trend curve to update this viewer to display the measurement at different times.

What do you want to do?

Task Action
Display the 1x waveform or a filtered 1x waveform. This viewer can display four representations of a waveform: waveform, auto-correlated waveform, 1x waveform, or filtered 1x waveform. To configure which representations are displayed, click Waveform Type and use the four radio buttons in the resulting dialog box. If you choose to show the filtered 1x waveform, you can also configure the lower and upper bound values in this dialog box.
Note  To display the 1x waveform for a particular sensor, the viewer requires that the sensor also have the following characteristics.
  • A speed profile with at least two values
  • A 1x Phase spectral band in the same domain as the sensor
  • A 1x Magnitude spectral band in the same domain and with the same units as the sensor. For example, for a displacement sensor whose units are mil, 1x Magnitude must be in the displacement domain with units of mil pk-pk, mil RMS, or mil peak.
Apply single or double integration or differentiation to data. Click Integration on the viewer toolbar and select an option from the resulting dialog box.

Display only a certain number of revolutions. If a measurement is from a sensor with a tachometer reference, you can display only data acquired during a specified number of revolutions. Click Settings on the viewer toolbar, select the Show fixed number of revolutions checkbox, and enter the number you want in the # revolutions textbox. The viewer displays the first n revolutions in the measurement. If this setting is disabled, the viewer displays the entire waveform.
Mark the locations of tachometer pulses. If a measurement is from a sensor with a tachometer reference, you can display bold marks on the curve at each position where a tachometer pulse occurred. Click Settings on the viewer toolbar, and select the Show tachometer reference checkbox.
Play a waveform as a sound file. Click Download WAV File on the viewer toolbar. You can then play back the waveform at the sample rate at which the data was acquired. This feature is useful for detecting high-frequency periodic anomalies in accelerometer data.
Enable AC coupling of waveforms. To remove the DC offset from waveform data, click Settings on the viewer toolbar, and select the AC-couple waveform data checkbox.
Compare measurements from different sources or times. Create a data event reference.

See a table of trend values for features of selected assets. Click Show Features on the viewer toolbar.
Select the source sensor. If you have more than one feature selected in the asset tree, you can select the source sensor for the viewer by clicking Choose Assets on the viewer toolbar.
Disable auto-scaling to manually set the scale for the viewer. Click Set Scale on the viewer toolbar. Uncheck Auto-scale and set the maximum and minimum values you want the viewer to use.
