NI InsightCM includes a technical support generation tool that you can use to generate a zipped folder containing server error logs, device configuration information, and server system status. NI Support can use this zipped file to help troubleshoot issues with NI InsightCM.

Complete the following steps to run the technical support generation tool:

  1. Open a Windows command prompt on the server machine.
  2. Run the following command to generate the technical report zip file:
    Note  The following command uses the default installation directory for NI InsightCM. If you installed NI InsightCM in a different location, update the directory in the command to reference that location instead.

    "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\InsightCM Server 3.0\InsightCMConsole.exe" exportsupportfiles -o C:\Users\Public\Documents\nisupport.zip

  3. Navigate to the following directory to access the NISupport.zip folder: C:\Users\Public\Documents\
  4. Send the NISupport.zip folder to NI Support.
