The NI TB-2645 terminal block creates a 2-wire 16×16 matrix topology with the NI PXI/PXIe-2532 (NI 2532). The NI TB-2645B terminal block creates a 2-wire 16×16 matrix topology with the NI PXI/PXIe-2532B (NI 2532B). The following figure represents the NI 2532/2532B in the 2-wire 16×16 matrix topology.

Making a Connection

Both the scanning command, r6->c1;, and the immediate operation, niSwitch Connect Channels VI or the niSwitch_Connect function with parameters r6 and c1, result in the following connections:

signal connected to R6+ is routed to C1+

signal connected to R6– is routed to C1–

Terminal Block Connections

The NI TB-2645 terminal block connects the banks of the NI 2532 to create the 2-wire 16×16 matrix topology. The NI TB-2645B terminal block connects the banks of the NI 2532B to create the 2-wire 16×16 matrix topology. The following figure illustrates how the native banks on the NI 2532/2532B connect using the NI TB-2645/2645B to create the 2-wire 16×16 matrix topology.

Note  The column connection board J2 connector on the NI TB-2645 is not used in this configuration.

Row Pin Connections

The NI TB-2645/2645B requires two row ribbon cables for row connections. The TB-2645 provides one pair of ribbon cable headers to connect your application. The TB-2645B provides two pairs of ribbon cable headers. Use one cable header pair to connect to your application and the other for column expansion.

The following table refers to the J2 connector on the NI TB-2645 Module Interface Board and the J4 and J5 connectors on the NI TB-2645B.

Row Protection Bypass Header

Each row signal is isolated from the reed relays through a 100 Ω resistor. To bypass this resistor, install a jumper on the appropriate pins of the header indicated in the table below. The following table lists the appropriate jumper position for bypassing the resistor on each row signal.
