This section explains how to model a component using a high-level, industry-standard programming language: C. The component can then be added to the Multisim database. To use code modeling you must have a C compiler such as Microsoft Visual C++, Version 4.1 or greater, and be familiar with programming and compiling C code. This section is not intended for Multisim users without programming knowledge.

Multisim includes models for most components, but it is impossible to provide them for all components. The behavior of some components may be difficult to model as combinations of SPICE components, but may be easier to describe in terms of high-level, behavioral equations. As a result, the behavior of these components can be modeled using code modeling.
